Urdu Learning & Facilitation Philosophy
At its simplest, the role of a language educator is to draw out observation, reflection, and awareness. With Urdu, this begins with noticing the interplay between word and feeling, language and memory.
At a deeper level, the role of the artist-educator is to infuse this exploration with joy, intimacy, and personal meaning. My approach is to make Urdu feel less like an elite preserve and more like a language of the heart—alive, evolving, and available to anyone willing to listen.
The learning sessions & curriculum I have designed independently are both - a culmination of my years of passionate self-learning and a beginning—a prototype for how language can be taught not just through grammar and repetition, but through guftagu, poetry, story, and emotion. The sessions seek to make the beauty of Urdu not just visible, but felt.
